Versatile Solutions for Cutting Edge Production Environment

This project encompassed a 412,000 SF Research and Development complex for Seagate, a global leader in data storage solutions. The project had a tight schedule that was not extended despite several major changes throughout construction. The General Contractor, Rudolph & Sletten, selected us due to our successful work on the construction of the building for the original owner, Solyndra. For Seagate, we were tasked with implementing Allen Bradley PLC for the manufacturing area and Automated Logic for the office space. This included the supply/installation of Automated Logic DDC controls for the following mechanical equipment:

  • Demolition of controls for 33 VAV Boxes
  • 217 Cooling Only VAV Boxes
  • 71 Reheat VAV Boxes (Sunbelt Controls supplied the reheat valves, install done by others)
  • 9 room CO2 sensors
  • 65 Clean Room Cooling Coil Zones/Groups (we supplied control valves, install done by others)
  • 42 MAU Make Up Damper Controls (we provided the DDC Controls and the room pressure transmitters to control the Supply Air VAV Boxes)
  • 2 cold aisle and 2 hot aisle temperature sensors

Sunbelt Controls also performed:

  • Programming and graphics for the new controls only
  • Startup/commissioning
