Napa Data Center
Napa, CA

The owner is the nation’s largest not-forprofit health plan, leading the way by managing the majority of its medical records electronically. This project took advantage of a previously established, yet unused, data center in Napa to accommodate its need for extensive electronic file storage.

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

Although there was primary cooling capacity available, how it was distributed and controlled did not satisfy the owner’s requirements. Center chilled water capacity also needed expansion, necessitating additional equipment and infrastructure. In addition, it was a fast-track project with a timeline of only 10 months to complete.

WHAT SUNBELT CONTROLS DELIVERED

A clever water distribution system was envisioned by Syska Hennessy Group, but the challenge was how to incorporate the vast amount of piping into an existing footprint with uncertain as-built conditions. ACCO assisted this by providing 3-dimensional models that integrated structural elements and HVAC equipment.

Vital to the successful outcome of the project is the use of Sunbelt Controls for integrating critical information. The owner worked closely with Sunbelt Controls to assure the system aided in their managerial operation procedures. Not only is system information contained in the Automated Logic System, but alarms page Control (ALC) technicians.
