Treasure Valley Community College
Career & Technical Education Center
Ontario, OR

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Treasure Valley Community College opened in 1962, when afternoon and evening classes were offered first at Ontario High School, and then moved to the current campus several years later. Since that simple beginning, TVCC has grown to 14 major buildings. A caring staff and faculty serve more than 3,000 students annually, providing excellent, affordable educational opportunities in a relaxed, pleasant rural setting on 90 beautifully manicured acres.

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

The Career & Technical Education Center is Treasure Valley Community College’s newest building. This expansion will allow the college to provide hands-on learning and industry-driven training that will help meet the workforce demands of the Treasure Valley.

WHAT SUNBELT CONTROLS DELIVERED

ACCO and Sunbelt Controls have been working with the Distech system at Treasure Valley Community College for several years, so we were more than pleased to be able to help integrate this new building.

This project included Integration of the full HVAC system, including rooftop package units (RTUs) with demand control ventilation, energy recovery ventilator (ERV), makeup air unit (MAU), exhaust fans, split system, duct heater, and unit/radiant heaters. This also included outdoor air temperature and CO2 references, BACnet integration of a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heat pump system, and a welding fume dust collection system.

The college received US EDA funds to expand and renovate their existing 15,000sqft Vo-Tech facility to 30,000sqft. This project provides innovative classrooms and more room for industry-specific training in areas such as animal science, criminal justice, welding, wildland fire, and industrial manufacturing & control systems. This facility will give the essential training to prepare students for immediate workforce placement upon program completion.
