Data Centers DM5/DM7/CUP
Santa Clara, CA

The Company provides scalable, customizable data center space to its customers. They needed to build out the existing V1 spaces to accommodate their anchor tenant. This included Data Module 5, Data Module 7 and all of the associated mechanical, electrical control and monitoring. In addition, they wanted to add to the capacity to the Central Utility Plant.

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

  • Roughly 6 months of Design-Build start to finish
  • Live, online cutover of the whole Central Utility Plant BMS in addition to plant expansion
  • Raised floor with Air-side economization in DM7
  • Level 5 commissioning of the BMS with 3rd Party agent

WHAT SUNBELT CONTROLS DELIVERED

Sunbelt Controls was awarded the project and had 6 months to complete, commission and turn over the new data center space. This timeline included the year end holdiay break. Working closely with the Design-Build team, Sunbelt Controls stayed flexible and agile through the many design iterations during the whole project. The project also included live replacement and expansion of the operating Central Utility Plant PLC based control system to the Automated Logic System.

The Level 5 commissioning for the whole project was completed flawlessly and the commissioning agent was impressed with the quality of work performed by Sunbelt Controls. They mentioned that this was the first time the controls contractor was ready before the physical work was finished. They had such confidence, in fact, they used WebCTRL graphic captures as part of the official level 4 and level 5 documents.
