John Muir BayHealth | Berkeley, CA

PROJECT BACKGROUND

BayHealth, a partnership between John Muir Health and UCSF Health, combines primary and urgent care with over 16 specialty services. This single-location hub provides comprehensive care, including the UCSF-John Muir Health Cancer network, to the community.

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

This project required the design and implementation of a comprehensive HVAC control system for several critical medical departments, including the Oncology Infusion and Molecular Imaging areas.

Key System Responsibilities

  • HVAC Management: The control system manages and monitors a wide range of components, including Terminal Units, Humidifiers, and Supply/Exhaust Fan systems.
  • System Integration: The scope included integration with the Generator, Fuel Oil, and ATS equipment, along with monitoring multiple critical systems, such as the Medical Gas system.
  • Server Upgrade: An upgrade and expansion of the existing enterprise ALC DDC server was also a core requirement.

WHAT SUNBELT CONTROLS DELIVERED

Sunbelt Controls delivered a fully integrated ALC DDC solution. We extended the site’s unique dual-server architecture and managed the full programming, engineering, and commissioning for over 40 control devices. We also integrated new generator systems via Modbus.

Our team worked proactively with the design team and owner to identify issues and provide solutions. We were a partner, not just an installer. The work was completed in phases to align with clinical schedules, showcasing our commitment to precision and flexibility.
