Wilshire Grand Center
Los Angeles, CA

Automated Logic’s 2017 Project of the Year

At 73 stories, the Wilshire Grand Center is the tallest building in Los Angeles. The building is calculated to sway during powerful Santa Ana winds and absorb ground movement during the most severe earthquakes. The Wilshire Grand Center includes a world-class 900 room luxury hotel, Class A office space and retail services.

Sunbelt Controls provided building automation solutions for approximately 3,000 points of software integration throughout the 2.1 Million SF, 1000 FT tall building. Our work covered: a 3,000 ton Carrier Chiller Plant; Thermal Storage; Modular Boiler Plant (14), Heat Exchangers and Air Handling Systems (AHUs, FCU’s, VAV boxes). Sunbelt Controls also provided panel design and fabrication, and worked with the mechanical contractor, ACCO Engineered Systems, to build out the core and shell for the 30 floors of office space above the 8th floor central plant. We utilized Automated Logic Controls (ALC) WebCTRL hardware for this project.

For its work on Wilshire Grand, Sunbelt Controls received ALC’s 2017 Project of the Year, as well as IBcon’s 2017 Digie Award for the Most Intelligent, Mixed-Use Project. Our advanced seismic engineering capabilities, phenomenal installation coordination, extensive knowledge of complex and diverse building requirements, plus compelling system visualization, integration and scalability were all key factors in delivering this award winning project.
