Novel Net Zero Integration
Delta Products Corporation is a global leader in power and thermal management solutions. Their focus is on providing clean energy efficient solutions and products. Delta’s newly constructed American Headquarters is targeted for Net-Zero energy and LEED Platinum standards by incorporating Delta’s own energy efficiency and renewable energy systems along with other green technologies.
Sunbelt Controls worked as a master integrator on this project, combining traditional HVAC zone level controls with newly developed energy efficient mechanical systems to achieve a Net-Zero energy rating. Delta selected the Distech Controls (BACnet) product line which covered everything from zone level to the complex central plant controls that, among others, makes use of stable geo-thermal temperatures to maintain maximum energy efficiency. For the main foyer and multipurpose room, Sunbelt was tasked with installing, programming and integrating newly released Loytec brand controls as a showcase for Delta’s customers.
This is the first LEED Platinum Facility in Fremont, CA. Sunbelt Controls teamed with Delta Products to implement a Demand Response Policy that is designed to lower the 180,000 square foot building’s electrical use. Geothermal heating and cooling system provided 60 percent reduction in energy consumption compared to traditional HVAC systems. Incorporated solutions included working with the 20% of building materials that are reclaimed. Overall, the new building is a fully functional display of Delta’s energy management systems, building automation systems, and data center solutions.
