Adidas East Village Expansion was recently named International Project of the Year by Building.co.uk for its collaborative approach to managing project delivery and the first-of-its-kind use of a hybrid timber (locally sourced and fabricated off-site) and concrete design.
The two new signature buildings, both targeting LEED Gold, in Portland, OR expand Adidas’ North American Headquarters and are inspired by small stadium environments where spectators and players engage in active dialogue. The two buildings connect creative work, community and sport. The facility, which will be home to 1,000 Adidas employees, is a global example of offsite construction and the first in the United States to use a unique structural hybrid design system, which successfully combines mass timber with precast concrete. Sunbelt Controls teamed with Apollo Mechanical to design and install a comprehensive networked Reliable Controls building automation system to control air-handling units, a boiler system, a chilled-water system, and more.
